Upcoming access point installation and associated road closures notification

We would like to inform you that ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) will be undertaking essential construction works on Grove Road, approximately 250 metres North of the Church Road junction. These works form part of the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm project and will involve the construction of a new haul road that crosses Grove Road.

The schedule of work is as follows:

  • Start Date: Monday, 28th July 2025 (road closure 28th July 2025 to 12th September 2025).
  • Duration: Approximately seven weeks
  • Working Hours:

o Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 6:00pm

o Saturday: 8:00am – 1:00pm

o No works will take place on Sundays and bank holidays

Scope of works:

  • Clearance of verge and hedgerow
  • Diversion of water main
  • Construction of a haul road crossing (including kerbing, aggregate laying, and asphalting)

To ensure the safety of both the public and our workforce, temporary traffic management will be in place. This will involve a road closure of Grove Road from 28th July to 12th September. We have co-ordinated with Essex and Suffolk Water to ensure that the water main diversion and our activities are undertaken under the one road closure. All traffic management measures have been approved by Suffolk County Council (SCC) Highways.

To minimise disruption as far as possible, access will be maintained at all times for cyclists, pedestrians (including pedestrians with buggies/prams) and wheelchair users and our teams are committed to conducting these works in a safe and efficient manner.

This information will be available via our interactive map and we have written to all residents within close proximity to the road closures.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
