A47 High Street – essential resurfacing
I’m writing to tell you
that we plan to carry out essential resurfacing on the A47 High Street between
Sparrows Nest and Jubilee Way. Once complete, drivers and residents will
benefit from a safer, smoother and better-defined road surface.
We plan to complete
this work overnight on Friday 29 August 2025. We will be working between
8pm and 6am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work
safely, we will need to apply a closure on the A47 High Street from Leisure Way
Roundabout to Sparrows Nest. Residential access will be maintained, but the
Shell garage will be closed for both entry and exit.
- From
Leisure Way Roundabout, head northbound on the A47 to Corton Roundabout
(B1385)
- Take
the first exit onto the A12 Millennium Way
- Continue
southbound on the A12 over four roundabouts
- At
the fifth roundabout on Peto Way, take the second exit and travel over the
Gull Wing Bridge
- Take
the first exit at the roundabout onto Horn Hill
- Continue
along Belvedere Road and cross the Bascule Bridge
- Follow
the A47 to Battery Green Road, Artillery Way and St Peters Street
