Parish Clerk/ RFO
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to take on the role of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.
You will be responsible for preparing agendas recording minutes, carrying out the Council’s instructions advising Council and overall management of the Council’s accounts.
The post is mainly office based for between 20 to 30 hours per week which includes attendance at up to 12 council meetings per year. Paid overtime will be available, where required. Dependent on the candidate, hours and working pattern will be agreed by negotiation.
Experience is preferred but not essential as training will be given. Salary will be in line with nationally recognised guidelines according to LC2 salary scales (£14.21 to 19.90 per hour subject to pay award pending) based on qualifications and experience. Includes contributory pension into a Pension Scheme and 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
Assistant to the Parish Clerk
The main responsibility is to provide support to the Parish Clerk in their duties to ensure the smooth running of the Parish Council. Hours will be by negotiation typically 10 to 15 hours per week + very occasional evening work to cover parish council meetings. Working pattern will be by negotiation. Salary will be according to LC1 salary scales (£11.22 to £13.96 per hour subject to pay award pending) and will be based on qualifications and experience. Includes contributory pension into a Pension Scheme and 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
The post holder will cover for the Parish Clerk during periods of annual leave and will need to gain the experience and confidence to deputise in this way. Training is available for a suitable candidate.
